Race Report: 8 Observations about the 2019 Boston Marathon

by Jeff Burtka Just turned right on Hereford! Every running blogger who ran the 2019 Boston Marathon is going to post a review of the race. Some will give a mile-by-mile account. Some will give emotional and personal accounts of triumph or defeat. Hope my account is a little different from the rest. If it's not too different, I hope it's at least entertaining. The gear drop near the finish is a pretty far walk from the buses to the start in Hopkinton; it would be nicer if they were closer together. Once you get to Hopkinton, they could have a better waiting area for runners with more places to sit besides muddy fields, and more port-a-johns. by Jeff Burtka The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest marathon, and marathon runners from around the world aspire to run it at least once so they can honor its history. Despite its global appeal, the Boston Marathon belongs to the people of Massachusetts, and the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to the finish line on Bolyston Street feature some of the best crowd support runners could ask for.
